This is a package deal geared for those new to hanging and not sure if it is for them.

Don't give up and get overwhelmed with all the information and choices out there.  The best teacher is always experience with an actual hammock.

Before investing hundreds of dollars on a system, get the "hang" of it with a starter hammock.  This will help you get your feet "wet" without breaking the bank and help you fine tune some of the basics and your preferences.

Then keep it as a "loaner" so you can convert all your friends, while you move in the direction that is right for you.

    Exceeded my expectations.

This is my second hammock purchase through Simply Light Designs. I also have a tarp. The quality, value, and communication are all superb.

If I'm looking for hammock supplies or light weight gear, this is my first stop!

    Great Hammock Package!

This is a great hammock package with excellent value! I like that this "Starter" kit takes some of the guesswork out of details that can be confusing to those who are just getting into hanging. Although this is not my first hammock, it is my first true backpacking hammock. I purchased my first hammock from a sporting goods store, and quickly learned that it was not entirely adequate for real backpacking trips or for sleeping overnight. Compared to a typical big brand hammock that can be found at a sporting goods store ( ENO, Kammok, Fox Outfitter, etc.), this SLD "Starter" hammock kit is lighter, comes in longer sizes, and comes with a ridgeline. The ridgline helps keep the sag in the hammock at an optimal level, regardless of the distance between the trees you hang from.

I purchased the 12' version with Hexon Wide 1.7 fabric and the cinch buckle suspension system. The total weight, including the stuff sack and suspension system, is 26 ounces.

I am 6'6" tall, and the 12' length fits me well and gives me a pretty flat lay. The cinch buckle suspension is straightforward and easy to use. Compared to the typical big brand suspension systems that have a series of loops and carabiners, the cinch buckle system makes it easy to make micro adjustments.

    I highly recommend this product!

Great Hammock if you don't want to spend a lot!

This is a great hammock for a great price! I chose the 11 foot hammock with heron wide. One day later my hammock was ready to ship! Very impressed and great quality.

Bought for a friend as a retirement gift

I bought this for a friends retirement gift. I haven't got to lay in it yet, but the craftsmanship looks great as with all Jared's stuff. I ordered it on Tuesday night and recieved it on Friday. It also has an adjustable ridgeline included, which I didn't expect. It came in an oversized, double ended stuff sack with whoopies larks headed to the hammock ends and straps and huggers and toggles in their own oversized stuff sack. If it were for me I would also order continuous loops, but this is perfect for someone to try hammock camping.
